FishNut Charters

The “FishNut” is a 26′ Sisu commercial-duty, non-production, all-fiberglass Downeast fishing vessel built by the Lowell Brothers. She is powered by a 250 HP 4-stroke Yamaha outboard, providing comfortable cruising to the fishing grounds. All passengers are well sheltered from the elements by a full hardtop and canvas enclosure.

The vessel is equipped with quality electronics, including two VHF radios, a Lowrance HD chartplotter/sounder, a Garmin GPSMAP chartplotter/sounder, and a Garmin color fishfinder. Below deck, she features a full-sized V-berth and an enclosed head, along with all U.S. Coast Guard-required safety equipment. The “FishNut” is homeported at Marshview Marina LLC in Westbrook, CT.

Captain

Captain Bill Kokis has fished the East Coast, West Coast, Gulf Coast, Caribbean, Sea of Cortez, and the Mediterranean Sea. His great-grandfather and grandfather, William Kokis, were lifelong commercial fishermen who made their entire living from the sea. The salt runs four generations deep with Captain Bill, along with an extensive knowledge of the water.

Bill has held a Master U.S. Merchant Marine Officer License since 2005 and currently holds a 100-ton Master’s License. He has been boating and fishing avidly and enjoying the great outdoors since early childhood. His background in Marine Biology gives him a scientific edge and a deep appreciation for marine resources. Aside from being a good person, he also brings a natural sense of camaraderie that enhances every fishing trip.

The FishNut is equipped with Avet and Penn reels, along with class-matched rods to handle the best fishing in Long Island Sound. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own personal fishing outfit that you feel comfortable using.
